I never plug anything into my ethernet so I can't test the before and after.

I am *SO* glad that I updated the sound driver!! For the first time in literally 5 years I can sit approximately 3 feet away, with my TV blaring, and STILL HEAR MY LAPTOP! I am so ecstatic, you don't even know! Apparently there was a driver update for my sound in 2010. Since I purchased the computer, I've been plagued with HORRIBLE sound quality like to the point that I would turn off the air conditioner and any other background noise and almost literally place my ear to the speakers to hear. It found 2 drivers out of date: 1) Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI and 2) Broadcam Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet Installed successfully, rejected the additional add-ons, and gave it a whirl. I'm not worried about the 6 month limit - if it works even one time to update my drivers, that's better than what I had before. So I figured I'd give this program a try. I have a fairly older laptop I bought for college in 2009 Gateway laptop, Win 7, 3 GB memory.
